Building Stronger Communities Through Service, Scholarships, and Giving Back

The Burbank REALTORS® Community Foundation (BRCF) is the charitable arm of the Burbank Association of REALTORS®. For nearly four decades, the Foundation has invested in local students, supported schools and nonprofit organizations, assisted families in need, and strengthened the Burbank community through volunteerism and philanthropy.

Our mission is simple:

Our Story

For decades, the Burbank Board of REALTORS® (now the Burbank Association of REALTORS®) has been committed to serving not only the real estate profession but also the Burbank community.

In 1987, while attending a California Association of REALTORS® convention, Burbank Board of REALTORS® leaders Jim Paul, Chuck Boecher, John Kennedy, and Executive Officer Jack Thorpe gathered for dinner and began discussing how the organization could make an even greater impact within the community.

During that conversation, Jim Paul proposed creating a charitable arm of the Board dedicated to fundraising and community service. The vision was to establish a nonprofit organization that could support local students through scholarships while providing a recognized charitable structure under the IRS tax code as a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

About the Burbank Association of REALTORS®

Over the following months, the Community Service Foundation (CSF) was established and received nonprofit status.

The Foundation's first fundraising event was an art auction held at the Board office. That event raised $500, a modest beginning that laid the groundwork for decades of charitable giving and community impact.

Thanks to the vision and dedication of the Foundation's founders, REALTORS®, affiliate members, and community partners have since contributed thousands of dollars to scholarships, charitable programs, and local causes that benefit the City of Burbank.

Today, the Community Service Foundation, now known as the Burbank REALTORS® Community Foundation, continues to carry forward that mission by investing in students, supporting community initiatives, and strengthening the neighborhoods we proudly serve.
